Plastic Surgeon

                               Plastic Surgeon
Duties: Plastic surgeons are medical professionals, specializing in the correction or restoration of form and function of damaged or malformed areas of the body. Plastic surgery includes many types of reconstructive surgery, hand surgery, microsurgery, and the treatment of burns. Plastic surgery, as a specialty, evolved remarkably during the 20th century in the United States, gaining increasing importance during the treatment of World War I soldiers with complex maxillofacial injuries.

Salary: Median $343,848

Education:  Most prospective plastic surgeons complete undergraduate degrees prior to attending medical school. Although bachelor's degrees in any major are acceptable, premedical students must complete certain prerequisite courses, including chemistry, biology and physics. The first two years of medical school, referred to as the preclinical years, teach students the fundamentals of body systems, diseases and patient care. The final two years are the clinical years and place students in healthcare facilities to perform clinical rotations. Surgery is a required rotation and some schools offer clerkships in plastic surgery.

Neurologist

                                   Neurologist
Duties and Responsibilities: A Neurologist is a specialized physician who takes care of the nervous system and the brain. The Neurologist job description is an interesting one because Neurology is a branch of medicine dealing with disorders of the nervous system. Physicians specializing in the field of neurology are called neurologists and are trained to diagnose, treat, and manage patients with neurological disorders.

Salary: $160,000 per annum

Education: Formal education and training requirements for physicians are among the most demanding of any occupation—4 years of undergraduate school, 4 years of medical school, and 3 to 8 years of internship and residency, depending on the specialty selected. A few medical schools offer combined undergraduate and medical school programs that last 6 rather than the customary 8 years.

Premedical students must complete undergraduate work in physics, biology, mathematics, English, and inorganic and organic chemistry. Students also take courses in the humanities and the social sciences. Some students volunteer at local hospitals or clinics to gain practical experience in the health professions.
